RESEARCHING YOUR TOPIC
1) To find information about your topic you need to break your topic/problem down into smaller parts (key words). These KEYWORDS are important terms in your question/problem and additional terms and concepts that is relate to your project's topic.

2. Take the keywords/phrases and place them into the "why, how, who, what, when, where" -- use the attached worksheet to help you brainstorm possible 2-3 questions for each question word. RESEARCH QUESTIONS WORKSHEET

3. Determine at least 5 valid (usable) questions from the above step that would be valid (useable) in researching information that will help you answer your experiment's question/problem.
4. Research the answers and RECORD them in your science fair report (use the science fair report template as a guide).
REQUIREMENTS:
1. You MUST have a minimum 5 credible (trustworthy) resources
(encyclopedias, magazine articles, newspaper articles, research papers,
websites, experts/scientists, videos, etc.) ** This means that if you are using the
internet you many NOT use wikipedia, yahoo answers, about answers, etc.
2. At least ONE of your resources MUST be an expert/professional in your
science topic(s) area of study
3. Do NOT PLAGIARIZE!!! This means that you CAN NOT "copy & paste" your
information into your report ...
-- you MUST put ALL of your the information IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
4. ALL references must be cited in the correct MLA format and recorded on
your science fair report "Bibliography Page" (last page of report) -- use
www. easybib.com to help you format them correctly.
